Marine Environmental

Development of marine economy mainly relies on the changes of the natural marine environment. The accurate prediction, disaster prevention development and engineering mitigation measures have become widespread environmental concerns. The interaction between the large-scale construction projects and the marine environment is the important issues of marine development. These issues require the usage of high-performance computer systems to research the marine environment simulation, marine disaster forecasting and other key technologies so that it could provide technical support for the development of marine resources in China and Marine Environmental Protection.

In the field of Marine Environmental Engineering, NSCC-TJ has cooperated with the State Oceanic Administration, Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Ocean University, Ocean University of China, Beijing Normal University, Institute for Global Change, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Canadian Institute of Oceanography and so on.

Application examples:

NSCC-TJ, the Ocean college of Tianjin University of Science and Technology, and other units were work together to simulate the large-scale, high precision global marine mode with the NEMO (Nucleus for the European Modeling of the Ocean) model and achieve the ideal simulation results.

GYRE012, the scale was increased from 1024, 2048, 2880 to 4096 processes. And test the impact of different modes of regional division of the computational efficiency in calculating the scale of the experiment on the basis of (detailed test results are shown in Table 1).
